Overview

NC Construction was appointed as Main Contractor by Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust to deliver critical RAAC remedial works across the F2 and F5 wards at Frimley Park Hospital.

Working within a live healthcare environment, our team carefully planned every stage of the programme to ensure minimal disruption to patients and hospital operations. With a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and infection control, we successfully completed a complex structural and refurbishment package within the agreed 20-week timeframe.

Scope of Works

The project involved a wide range of structural, mechanical, and internal refurbishment activities, including:

  • Removal of existing suspended ceilings and services to access the underside of the roof

  • Concrete repairs to the underside of existing planks

  • Installation of steel reinforcement structures to both the roof and existing columns

  • Demolition of existing RAAC panel walls and formation of new partitions and boxings

  • Removal and replacement of IPS systems within sanitary areas

  • Refurbishment of sanitary facilities with new hygienic cladding installations

  • Full reinstatement of M&E services, including new heating and ventilation systems

  • Installation of new fire alarm, nurse call, access control, and IT systems

  • Internal door alterations, remedial floor finishes, and decoration works

Delivery & Outcome

Operating in a busy hospital setting required meticulous coordination with the Trust’s estates team and ward management. We adopted a phased delivery approach, allowing sections of the hospital to remain operational while critical structural works were carried out.

Our proactive communication, detailed risk management, and commitment to quality ensured a smooth delivery with zero disruption to patient care. The project has significantly enhanced the structural safety and longevity of the hospital building, providing a renewed and compliant environment for staff and patients.

The successful completion of this scheme further demonstrates our expertise in complex healthcare environments — combining technical capability, collaboration, and a strong focus on compliance and safety.
